Hacienda Empedrado is without the shadow of a doubt the most important and spectacular estate to ever have become available in the Lake Chapala area.  An exquisite hacienda sitting atop your private mountain with 360 degree views of the lake and surrounding mountains.  The hacienda was built as a labor of love in 2005 to the highest standards of engineering, authenticity, comfort and beauty, including 50 cm (20 inches) thick walls, handmade clay roof tiles, radiant floor heating, expansive canterra terraces and a full solar electric system, to name a few.  Nearly 50 acres (21 hectares) of fully fenced land, a 1.2 km (.75 mile) private entry road and a manned 24-hour security post (shared between 10 nearby properties) allow for complete privacy. 

The heart and centerpiece is THE HACIENDA, offering four bedrooms (two on the main floor, two on the second floor) with ensuite bathrooms and ample walk-in closets, a large office, a craft room with bathroom (could be turned into a fifth bedroom).  The two upstairs bedrooms are connected to a central private living room (with fireplace). 

The grand entry leads to the central courtyard bordered on all four sides by the classic archways that identify a true hacienda.  Beveled glass French doors open to the oversized living/dining room with ceiling-high fireplace, a handcrafted tequila bar with room for hundreds of bottles marks the division between the living and dining areas.  The kitchen consists of the main kitchen with super high-end appliances, two pantries with extra refrigerator and freezer and extensive storage, and a laundry room that leads to a secret herb garden.  Step out onto the canterra terrace and you will be awestruck by views over the 120,000 liter swimming pool with Jetstream, the lake and Mt. Garcia (the highest mountain in the area).  The terrace offers a full kitchen (with a built-in paella cooker), another fireplace for chilly evenings, a full bathroom and 8-person dry sauna.  Parties for 200 guests or more are definitely an option, as are romantic small dinners. 

A separate fully equipped GUEST HOUSE with a wooden terrace is on a slightly higher level, close, but not too close to the Hacienda.  This higher level also offers enclosed parking for three cars, covered parking for two additional cars, a green house, and THE CANTINA, a tequila aging, storing and testing room.  About 500 meters from the Hacienda, there is an additional two bedroom house, the RANCH HOUSE, currently occupied by the couple helping at the Hacienda, but also suitable as an additional guest house.

On either side of the driveway there are nestled STABLES for eight horses, feeding stations for life stock, a 150m2 storage BODEGA, a circular horse training pen, and several additional animal dwellings, including two duck ponds.

The technical and engineering data points are too many to list, but here a few: underground high voltage registers, 1.2 km underground fiber optic cables, 2.7 km underground 220V cable, back up powerplant, battery power and voltage regulator, 4 water purification systems, 4 reverse osmosis systems.
