Michelle Thurlow

Michelle “Michi” Thurlow helps people find their place Lakeside, whether they’re moving from Canada or the U.S. or simply relocating within the area. She knows what it feels like to make a big move because she’s done it herself.

With six years of real estate experience, including serving as a team lead on Vancouver Island, Michelle loves meeting new clients and guiding them through the sometimes complex process of buying or selling a home. She brings professionalism, warmth, and a positive attitude to every interaction, helping take some of the stress out of a move so her clients can focus on the excitement of what comes next.

Before entering real estate, Michelle was a registered nurse in postpartum care in Calgary and later became a clinical educator for the unit. Supporting families through one of life’s biggest transitions, and then teaching colleagues to explain complex things clearly, taught her to listen carefully, communicate plainly, and stay calm when things get complicated. It also taught her that every person’s circumstances are different. Those skills are just as valuable when guiding clients through a cross-border purchase.

After moving to Ajijic and buying her own home here, Michelle saw firsthand both the joys and the challenges of relocating to Mexico. She went on to complete the certifications required to sell real estate in Jalisco so she could help others make the move too, and she’s thrilled to do that work with Lake Chapala Real Estate.

Outside of work, you’ll find Michelle swimming, singing along at music bingo, wandering the local markets, practicing her Spanish, or enjoying game nights with friends. She’s always looking for another reason to explore the communities around Lake Chapala, and she looks forward to getting to know her clients and helping them feel at home here, too.
