The tax revenue from nearby Ajijic and San Antonio helps fund Chapala’s expansive boulevards, plaza and Malecon with the towns parks and infrastructures typically being well maintained. The homes to the far east side are at a lower elevation and so allow the village and lake view.  The San Miquel community is an up and coming area adjacent to the Lourdes area which has seen phenomenal growth with large Mexican Modern view homes. In anticipation of supporting the up and coming community of San Miquel, in the last 2 years the municipality has repaved the entrance streets leading into the San Miquel colonia -Calle Manzanillo and Calle Miquel Martinez.

For a buyer planning on building on a lot, available stable utilities is important. There is a strong appeal to have a lot with established utilities available in the town center offering municipal water and sewer. Lots in the Town center are unusual and sure to increase in value as a sound investment.
